We would like to introduce our construction achievements of 2×4 houses at the wooden cold storage warehouse of Fukuhara Farm. The vegetable storage warehouse is equipped with the ultra-energy-saving cold storage system "HOZONE." Additionally, a room for conditioning is placed next to the cold storage room to gradually reduce the temperature difference with the outside air, preventing condensation in the building. "Senju" is wood made from carefully selected high-quality materials sourced from Tochigi Prefecture, specifically from 60-year-old structural timber and 80-year-old or older finishing materials (such as wall panels, flooring, and framing) made from Yamizo cedar, cypress, and Oshu red pine. It has few root bends, black heartwood, and eccentric wood, with consistent and fine growth rings. The wood grain is very beautiful, with a lovely light red hue, making it suitable for interior materials. The enforcement of the Public Building Wood Utilization Promotion Act (Wood Promotion Act) strongly encourages the use of local timber in public facilities such as community centers, schools, and government offices. However, there are many voices expressing that "it is difficult to stably procure the necessary quality and quantity of local timber in accordance with construction schedules."
